It depends on what the target insect is. Usually immediately numbers will drop and then I say give it 7-10 days for full control. 

Good question! I sometimes hear "Aren't there basically infinite mice outside?" The goal of a monthly program is to keep the population at a low level so that they don't need to find new places to live, like your home or business.

If your home is difficult to seal all the potential entry points for mice (old homes, mobile homes, homes with dirt crawlspaces), you often leave doors open or you want extra piece of mind then exterior rodent control can keep the pressure off your house by keeping the population of mice around your house low.

For businesses you will often have doorways either frequently open or stay open and having a mouse infestation can be costly and difficult to rid. Prevention is really the best solution to keep your customers and employees safe and happy!

I would recommend only buying the products and services you want and need and not the cookie cutter, band-aid solution someone wants to sell.
If you do want a similar style service from me, we can discuss it but I would never push you into doing something you don't need.

While treating for ants, I found a deer that had crawled under the clients deck to die (Don't worry it didn't die from my treatment), and so with the help of my former boss we removed it for the client. Unfortunately while removing it the stomach burst... on me. Yeah, that was unpleasant.
